So today my friend and I decided to go to the beach, Lido di Ostia, near Rome. We looked it up last night and found out that there are ruins near there, so we stopped at them first to check them out before heading to the beach. They were amazing!! We thought we’d only be there for an hour or so, but we ended up spending the rest of the day there!

We wandered through the ruins for over 5 hours! It was just so humbling to think that you’re stopping by a place briefly and it turns out to be so amazing that you lose track of time and spend hours there! We saw so many cool parts of the 60,000 person city it used to be. I have always been obsessed with Ancient Rome, so this was a dream come true!
I would highly recommend going there if you ever visit the area. I could imagine the buildings in their original state, with crowds of people bustling about their every day lives. Such a good day.
